A 70's-Inspired Creative Session with Kinsley | Wichita Kansas Senior Photographer

Every once in a while, a session comes along that reminds me why I fell in love with photography in the first place.

No expectations.

No timeline.

Just creativity.

This session with my daughter, Kinsley, was exactly that.

If you know Kinsley, you know she has always marched to the beat of her own drum. She has a heart for creativity, a love for music, and a style that is uniquely her own. Give her a vintage outfit, her guitar, and a field full of wildflowers, and she's completely in her element.

So that's exactly what we did.

We found a quiet field covered in clover, discovered an old abandoned bus tucked away nearby, and spent the evening creating—not because we had to, but because creativity has a way of filling your soul.

As a Wichita, Kansas senior photographer, these are the kinds of sessions I absolutely love.

The ones that tell a story.

The ones that reflect who someone truly is.

Because the best senior photos aren't created by following trends.

They're created when a senior feels free to bring her personality, passions, and style into every image.

For Kinsley, that meant embracing her love for all things vintage. Her 70's-inspired outfit, layered jewelry, well-loved guitar, and carefree spirit fit this setting so perfectly that it almost felt like we had stepped back in time.

There wasn't a need to force poses or manufacture moments.

She simply showed up as herself.

And honestly...

Those are always my favorite sessions.

I love helping seniors dream up locations that mean something to them. Whether it's a downtown alley full of character, a golden Kansas field, Botanica in Wichita, or an unexpected hidden gem like this abandoned bus, every location becomes part of their story.

That's what makes senior photography so special.

No two seniors are alike.

Their session shouldn't be either.

One of my favorite moments from this evening was watching Kinsley sit in the clover with her guitar, completely lost in the music. It wasn't about creating the "perfect" image.

It was about capturing who she is in this season of life.

Years from now, I hope these photographs remind her not only of what she looked like, but of who she was.

Creative.

Free-spirited.

Confident.

Completely herself.

As a Wichita senior photographer, that's always my goal.

I want every senior to leave their session feeling seen—not for who they think they should be, but for who God created them to be.

Because those are the photographs that become timeless.

Those are the images you'll treasure long after high school is over.

Kinsley, thank you for trusting me to capture this creative side of you. I loved every minute of dreaming up this session together, and I can't wait for our next adventure.
