Emma’s Whimsical Morning Senior Session at Bartlett Arboretum | Wichita, Kansas Senior Photographer

Some senior sessions just feel a little bit magical.

And Emma’s morning at Bartlett Arboretum was exactly that.

For her senior portraits, Emma—an upcoming 2027 Trinity Academy senior from Wichita, Kansas—made the drive to Belle Plaine for a morning senior session at Bartlett Arboretum. And let me just say… it was SO worth the drive.

Because if you’ve ever dreamed of senior portraits that feel like they belong in the pages of a romance novel, this is the kind of place that makes that dream come to life.

A Morning Straight Out of a Storybook

There was something about the quiet of the morning, the soft light, and the way everything was blooming around us that made this senior session feel completely different.

The flowers were gorgeous.

The willow trees were dreamy.

There were little hidden paths around every corner, beautiful garden spaces, and not one—but two beautiful bridges that gave us completely different looks.

A delicate white bridge.

And a gorgeous old wrought-iron rust-colored bridge.

Everywhere we turned, there was another little pocket of beauty.

And honestly? That’s one of my favorite things about a location like Bartlett Arboretum. You don't have to force the magic. It’s already there.

Emma’s 2027 Senior Year

There is something so special about photographing a senior who is standing right on the edge of a brand-new chapter.

Emma is part of the Trinity Academy Class of 2027, and her senior session was such a beautiful way to celebrate this season of her life.

Not just the fact that she’s graduating soon, but who she is right now.

That’s what I want senior portraits to feel like.

Not overly posed.

Not like you’re trying to become someone else for the camera.

Just you—with all the little details, expressions, laughter, and personality that make this particular season yours.

Why Bartlett Arboretum Is Worth the Drive

If you're a Wichita senior—or a mom of a Wichita senior—looking for somewhere a little different for senior pictures, I truly think Bartlett Arboretum is worth considering.

Belle Plaine isn't far from Wichita, but once you step onto the property, it feels like you've completely left Kansas behind.

There are flowers everywhere.

Quiet little paths.

Romantic garden spaces.

Willow trees.

Beautiful bridges.

And so many tucked-away spots that make a session feel incredibly personal.

It has that secret garden meets romance novel feeling, and I am completely here for it.

For seniors who want something whimsical, romantic, natural, and a little bit unexpected, Bartlett Arboretum senior pictures are such a beautiful choice.

Your Senior Session Should Feel Like YOU

The best part of a senior session isn't finding the "perfect" pose.

It's finding the places, movement, light, and little moments that make you feel like yourself.

Emma's morning session reminded me of exactly why I love senior photography so much.

These photographs aren't just about documenting what someone looks like during their senior year.

They're about remembering how this season felt.

And Emma's felt pretty magical.

So, Emma—here's to your 2027 senior year, to all the beautiful things ahead, and to this little morning in Belle Plaine that felt like it came straight out of a storybook.

I'm so glad we got to capture it. 🤍
