Okay, I have a feeling Ashton is going to bring A LOT of personality to the Garden Girls this year. 😂

She's outgoing, adventurous, loves meeting new people, and already has a pretty impressive list of things happening in her life.

I'm so excited to introduce you to Ashton, one of my Garden Girls 2027 Senior Rep Team girls from Douglass High School!

Meet Ashton

When I asked Ashton why she wanted to be a Garden Girl, her answer was simple:

“I would love to meet new friends and take pictures together! And also meet you as a photographer!”

But then she added something that made me especially excited:

She is a photographer, too!

She would love the opportunity to connect, learn from each other, and maybe even work together someday.

And I LOVE that.

I think there is something really special about creatives getting to encourage and inspire each other. Photography can sometimes feel like a very individual thing, so getting to know another photographer who is also in the middle of figuring out her own creative style? That's something I'm really looking forward to with Ashton.

A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Classy

Ashton told me she loves a mix of western-inspired pictures and classy photos, and I think that sounds like the perfect combination for her.

She's a former barrel racer, loves Cavender's and Bass Pro, and has that western side that we are absolutely going to have fun incorporating into her senior portraits.

But she's also up for something a little more polished and classic.

Basically, if the answer to “Where should we take pictures?” is “Really anywhere!” then I know we're going to have fun. 😂

And when it comes to shopping, Ashton is not picky.

TJ Maxx, Hobby Lobby, Cavender's, Bass Pro... literally anywhere.

I'm pretty sure she and the other Garden Girls are going to have plenty to talk about.

Meet Whiskey 🐶

We also need to talk about the most important member of Ashton's family.

Her seven-month-old mini Aussie, Whiskey.

Ashton loves getting fun drinks and getting pup cups for her puppy, which honestly tells me everything I need to know.

Whiskey is going to need to make an appearance at some point.

I'm just saying.

There are some senior pictures that need to happen, and I think a fun photo with a puppy and a pup cup sounds like one of them.

Ashton Is One Busy Girl

Ashton isn't just busy with school and photography.

She is currently a CNA at Villa Maria in Mulvane and is also on the Mulvane Fire Department.

And as if that wasn't enough, she is starting EMT school in August!

When I asked her what she's most looking forward to after graduation, she said she is excited to become an EMT right after she turns 18.

That says a LOT about this girl.

She is already choosing a path that is centered around serving and helping people, and I think that's something to be incredibly proud of.

From photography to volleyball to the fire department to EMT school, Ashton is clearly not someone who plans on sitting around waiting for life to happen.

She is out there doing things.

The Girl Behind the Camera

I love that Ashton is also a photographer because it gives us another layer to her senior experience.

She isn't just going to be standing in front of my camera.

She knows what it's like to be behind one, too.

I think that will make our sessions especially fun because we can talk about photography, ideas, creative inspiration, and maybe even swap perspectives a little bit.

And I hope being a Garden Girl gives Ashton the chance to meet other girls who share some of her interests, too.

That's one of the things I want most for this team.

Friendships.

Connection.

Encouragement.

Creating together.

And a whole lot of fun.

A Senior Year Full of New Beginnings

Ashton is heading into senior year with a LOT happening.

She's a senior at Douglass High School.

She's one of four kids with three older brothers.

She's working as a CNA.

She's serving with the Mulvane Fire Department.

She's starting EMT school.

She's a photographer.

She's a volleyball player.

She's a puppy mom.

And she's getting ready to step into a whole new chapter of life.

I have a feeling this year is going to be a big one for her.

And I can't wait to document it.

Because as a Wichita senior photographer, I don't want senior pictures to just be pretty pictures.

I want them to tell the story of this season.

The girl who loves western style AND classy portraits.

The girl who brings her camera everywhere.

The girl who loves fun drinks and pup cups.

The girl who wants to become an EMT.

The girl who has three older brothers.

The girl who is figuring out what comes next while still soaking up the last year of high school.

That's the girl I want to photograph.

I can't wait to get to know you, hear all about your photography, create some beautiful images together, and hopefully make some really fun memories along the way.

And yes, I'm already thinking about the western session.

And the classy session.

And probably a Whiskey appearance.

And maybe a fun drink run.

Because apparently we're going to need more than one session to fit all of this personality into one senior year. 😂

Here's to new friendships, creative collaboration, volleyball, western adventures, pup cups, photography, and the exciting road ahead to becoming an EMT.
